AMC has reportedly ordered the pilot for Garth Ennis and Steve Dillion's dark graphic novel, Preacher. AMC is currently raking in the cash from the success of both The Walking Dead and Breaking bad, will this be their next cash cow? The synopsis for Preacher goes; "The story of Jesse Custer, a down and out cursed/blessed southern boy preacher, a hard livin' Irish vampire (Cassidy) and the preacher's gunslinging ex-girlfriend travel and fight the world to question The All-Mighty Himself, as to why he quit his sacred task of caring for the world. Along the way a colorful cast of supporting characters walk into the story including a Cowboy who can kill anything, a once suicidal depressed teen who just happens to have a face like an arse, and a zealot assassin by the name of Starr. Buckle up for a crazy ride cause Vertigo's groundbreaking Preacher is out to get you. Widely regarded as one of the greatest comics titles of all time." My only worry about this coming to AMC is that after having read this and loving it, there are very strong anti-religious overtones throughout the series. One of which is so rough for christians that when i was explaining it to a friend, he asked me to stop because it was upsetting him. That being said, i'm very excited to see this and to hear more news come out about it.

Tonight will be the night when gamers all across the country will come together in attempting to get their hands on the new gaming experience from Sony which is none than the PS4. Even some lucky gamers have already gotten their hands on them either through the contest that is being held by Taco Bell or through other special means that may be in some ways unorthodox. But for some of those lucky gamers it has become an unlucky case of disaster for them as some of the consoles have turned out to be in many ways defective causing distress amongst these gamers. Over the past few days just as the console is about to launch that have been numerous reports from gamers who have received the console early of different malfunctions and other defects.
One person from Maryland reported that after turning on his console he got this pulsing blue light which should have been glowing white and it would not output the signal to the television. Some others have reported to having their consoles being bricked out of the box due to the hard drive not being properly fragmented. Another small group of people discovered that the HDMI port which is the only video output was not functioning properly or was completely defective. One user after switching game discs and after booting up the game was then being prompted for an update which for some reason had caused the controller to completely stop working period. Some of the people who have been experiencing malfunctions have contacted Sony who then told users there is nothing they can do at this point and even one person said they refused to assist him in any way. With all these reports of defecting consoles hitting gamers hard and even Sony providing little to no answers could this mean the PS4 is heading down the same perverse path of problems that not only plagued the 360 at its launch but for years to come? Or could these reports of defects be nothing more than an inconsequential percentage of consoles out of the majority that are functioning properly which is common for any new product on the market? Only time will tell what fate awaits the PS4 in the near future we only hope in is not an ugly one like what some are seeing now before the console even lauches. |
