The long anticipated visual novel spin-off of key's Angel Beats! multi-media franchise was supposed to finally be on its way, with the "-1st beat-" slated for PC in 2014. Looks like a broad 2014 time frame is being scratched in favor of an even less specific future listing. The highschool afterlife story that Jun Maeda introduced in the 2010 anime will be told across 19 character routes in six volumes, starting with Yui, Iwasawa and Matsushita. Last month, a series of CG for original scenes not featured in the anime were previewed. - Niwa

Rurouni Kenshin: Kyoto Inferno which is the first sequel to the Live Action film that came out in 2012 is slated to release on August 1 and the second Rurouni Kenshin: The Legend Ends will release in theaters on September 13. This teaser has English Subtitles and proclaims "His most insane enemy appears." I watched the first one and it wasn't as bad as I was expecting. Can't wait to see what the next two have in store. Info from Gundam-Guy and ANN Sony announced at the Game Developer Conference (GDC) on Tuesday that the next big thing for the Playstation 4 is going to be virtual reality! They are heading in the direction of Virtual Reality for the Playstation 4 and shown on display is their first prototype of the virtual headset.
"The industry has grown by creating technological advancements for video game players," Yoshida said. "Advancements that people maybe weren't expecting or thought was possible." PlayStation, he said, is focused on "pushing the boundary of play," and "it's this focus that drives how we innovate and create the experiences we deliver to gamers." He believes the virtual reality is the next forefront of video games now that motion sensory and Blu-ray are standards in the industry. This technology has had a few years in development and they are still working it out. There are six areas that they are focusing on; sight, tracking control, sound, easy of use and of course the content. The project will use Sony's 3-D audio technology so when you are walking forward up a flight of stairs you hear your feet each step below you and hear birds fly over head. Currently developers have a 1080p output display, a 360 degree for head tracking, 90 degrees of vision and works using the Playstation move and Dualshock 4 support. This really could be interesting to see how easy it is to use and how much fun it really will be. We are heading so Sword Art Online in a few years!
